Car Ergonomics · Lesson 2 of 4

The four principles

Before touching a single seat lever, these four ideas shape everything that follows.

Every Body is differentStart with the basic rules of "optimal" posture, but then customize your setup to make sure your body feels good and is adequately supported.
Change the seat, not your bodyUse supports to fit the surface or seat to your body rather than trying to make your body fit the seat. This is the sentence the whole course hangs on.
Change is inevitableThe one constant in life is change, and that also applies to your car setup. Just because it works for you now does not mean it will be right in the future. Re-check after flares, after new symptoms, after new cars.
Travel-size setupOnce you understand what supports your body needs, keep an extra set of props ready for riding in someone else's car.
