A live workshop with Julie Griffis, PT. One focused afternoon on the tools that hand a POTS body its life back: what exists, what fits this population, and how the path to getting one actually works.
If you have ever stood in a line doing the math nobody else is running, how long until the floor goes soft, where the nearest wall is, this is for you. It is for the person who can technically walk, some days, and has been told that means a mobility aid is not allowed. There is a truer frame: unreliably ambulatory is a real thing a body can be, and both kinds of days belong to the same real you.
A fillable take-away packet, yours to keep:
Cameras optional. Captions on. Attend lying down, in the dark, under a weighted blanket, however your body does Thursdays. There is one built-in pause in the middle. If your body cancels on the day, nothing is lost: every registrant gets the replay, so saving your seat also saves your recording.
This is education, not a medical-necessity clinic. Nobody leaves here diagnosed, prescribed to, or filing paperwork. The real choice and fitting happen with your own PT and an assistive technology professional, and that is exactly the point: this workshop is how you arrive at that room with language, options, and the standing to ask for what you need. Julie Griffis, PT is not a medical doctor, and this workshop is not individualized medical care.
I am Julie Griffis, a physical therapist who has spent years working with hypermobile, dysautonomic, sensitive bodies. Custom wheelchairs are some of my most-requested work, and I teach this the way I practice it: the mechanism explained clearly, the process demystified, and your authority over your own body kept where it belongs, which is with you.
The workshop pairs with Steady Steps, the twelve-week live POTS recovery program starting September 3. A mobility aid is a pacing tool: it frees up energy, and Steady Steps is where you learn to spend that energy on purpose. $50 of your workshop fee applies toward Steady Steps enrollment; your credit arrives by email after the workshop. Prefer self-paced? A $49 DazzlEd version of this workshop, built from the recording, lands on the Classes shelf afterward.
